District heating pipe-in-pipe systems are fabricated for the specific construction site.
Before beginning the works, and in cooperation with the contractor, planner and FW, the complete testing programme to be conducted during the prefabrication as well as on-site will be established and documented in a Pipe Book. The Pipe Book will also be a part of the documentation.
During prefabrication, the weld of the inner pipe will be subject to a 100% radiographic testing. The radiographic test reports will be transmitted to the contractors together with the documentation.

More FW- Quality: Transportation from the Factory to the Construction Site
To deliver the FW pipe-in-pipe systems safely and store them on-site if necessary, both inner and encasing pipe ends will be closed with red polyethylene caps.
If, for example, 10 inner pipe connections are welded on the construction site but testing can only take place on the next day due to rain, rubber packing is available in particular to close on-site connections in a watertight manner at the encasing pipe openings, fastened by means of two tightening straps.
To prevent the inner pipes from sliding out of the encasing pipes during transport of the pipe assembly, transportation locks are fixed on both sides of the drilling unit ends and bolted with the inner pipe.
The use of wooden transport components which are sawed out aligned to the radius of the encasing pipe and lined with plastic strips prevents the cathodic corrosion protection of the construction units from getting damaged.
Red caps, rubber packing, transportation locks and wooden transportation components remain the property of FW- GmbH and are provided to the customer on a loan basis only. Missing and damaged parts will be invoiced.
